The wireless MICROSPORT In-Line Skate Speedometer offers you 11 different funktions:
-actual speed
-average speed
-maximum speed
-total distance
-trip distance
-trip time
-wheel wear rate
-real time
-calorie counter
-lap counter
-heart rate
The installation is most easy: Just replace one wheel and off you go!
The calorie function is bases on reseach of the University of Massachusetts which related the calorie consumption with the weight and the speed of the skater. Microsport was able to achieve an even better accuracy of the results by taking the number of skating moves into account as well.
If the speedometer wheel is worn out because of the usual waer and tear you simply need a cheap spare wheel and keep the electronic components of your speedometer.
MICROSPORT's In-Line Skate Speedometer was a runner up in the NASDAQ-AMEX Sport product of the Year 2000 competition.
Of course you can use the heart rate monitor for all other activities like jogging of cycling as a stand alone porduct.
